Physiotherapy Services

Optimising function and achieving your goals.

Balance and Mobility

Evidence-based falls prevention requires a multi-factorial approach, including balance specific exercises.

Louise was employed as a Falls Specialist in Perth, which included home environment reviews, exercise prescription, training on getting up from the floor and avoiding long lies on the ground. Louise also provided training in falls prevention to staff in Residential Care Facilities and to General Practitioners.

Transfers

Louise has experience prescribing safe transfer methods for the client and their carers. This includes training in slide boards, Sera Stedy, hoists, getting up from the floor and car transfers.

Optimising Function

Neurological conditions come with a variety of issues that impact daily life. Louise works with you to achieve your functional goals, whether it is safe sitting balance, comfortable positioning, outdoor walking, or playing the guitar again.

Staff Training

Louise has plenty of experience training clients, family members and care staff on Physiotherapy related topics, such as transfers, chest/lung management, exercise programs, manual handling and patient handling techniques. This includes face-to-face and developing online training for organisations.

Gait Retraining

Maintaining walking is often a key goal for people after a stroke or with other neurological conditions. Louise has experience in assisting people return to walking.

Equipment Prescription

Louise has prescribed various assistive technology equipment, including Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) cycling, MOTOmed, passive standing frames (e.g. Dejay EasyStand).
